Seacret Direct – How It All Began

Seacret’s products are from the Dead Sea in Israel and have amazing results. Seacret Direct was founded by brothers Izhak and Moty Ben Shabat.

Moty had moved from Israel to the United States where he planned to work and save for medical school. He bought his own ice cream truck and worked hard while dreaming of one day owning his own company.

Moty’s brother Izhak came for what was supposed to be a short visit. Moty, on the other hand, believed his brother had come to join his ice cream truck business. Moty called his parents and told them he and his brother were starting a business and needed their help. 

 

By the time the two brothers cleared up the confusion, their parents had sold all of their possessions and put the entire family on a plane to the U.S. This left Izhak in a tough position. He had recommitted to the Israeli military, however now his entire family was in the U.S. ready to help support their son’s business. Unfortunately the ice cream truck wasn’t going to support them all. What could Izhak do but call his family and friends back in Israel to beg them to come and help. And they did.

They began selling toys in kiosks during the Christmas season—and over the next few months they made $4 million in revenue! Izhak and Moty wanted to ensure their dedicated friends and family received what they deserved for their sacrifice and support. They then split the profits evenly among the group. By this time, everyone wanted to stay in the U.S.

The Ben Shabat family began to create a culture of family and friends coming together for one mission and goal, achieving success together.

And this is how Seacret began.

Izhak and Moty noticed there were no Dead Sea products for sale in the United States. Everyone who supported them, moved from Israel and worked with the family pooled their resources and they began selling a variety of Israeli brands out of kiosks in malls. By 2005 they had saved enough money to formulate their own products. Their goal was to create Dead Sea skin care products that would deliver immediate results. They worked with some of Israel’s best formulators to create products so effective that people could see results on the spot. That was the beginning of SEACRET.

Over the next 5 years, Seacret grew to having retailers in 30 countries. By 2010 Seacret was a $100 million business. In the previous year, Seacret partnered with the world’s largest manufacturer of cosmetics to make their products. Seacret’s partners planned on moving from the kiosks to open 500 stores all over the world, claiming they  “wanted to be the Apple of skincare”.

Until a 19 year old girl caught their attention…

Betty-perez-seacretBetty Perez, a young Seacret kiosk employee had something to say. At her young age, Perez had already been successful in two direct sales companies.  Betty knew Seacret had a high quality product and knew that it would be the perfect fit to move into direct sales.

She requested a meeting with Izhak and Moty to propose her idea of changing Seacret’s business model.  At first they were not convinced, but Betty’s passion inspired him to look into it further.

After a series of meetings and a lot of thought, the partners gave Betty the ‘go ahead’ to run a small pilot program in Phoenix, where the company was based.

By the end of 2010 and in only a few short months of the pilot program, Seacret had developed nearly 1,000 distributors, or SEACRET Agents.

Seacret Direct officially launched in 2011 and by 2012 Seacret had $12 million in direct sales. By 2013 that figure grew to $71 million. Today, Seacret continues to prosper. It has reach over a BILLION $ in sales. It is growing by the day with over 40,000 Agents and customers worldwide.
